    Every year on the last Sunday in April, we produce a world class half marathon race. It started out as a club event by members who were running in a half marathon sponsored by the La Jolla Town Council some four decades ago. Under the tender loving care of our club, this small local event grew into what it is today: A runner's festival for over 7000 participants every yer! CLUB INSTALLATION DINNER – We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our installation dinner on Friday September 18th at All Hallows Church. This is a special evening as we acknowledge and thank our current Officers and Directors and install those for 2015-2016. Social hour: 6-7 pm; dinner at 7 pm.  Please wear your recognition pins and medals as a show of our activity as a club.


INSTALLATION OF 2015-2016 LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR – The dinner to install the in-coming 2015-2016 Lieutenant Governor, Mike Servais, will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Phil’s BBQ located at 3750 Sports Arena Blvd. Festivities begin at 4:30 pm, dinner at 5pm. Dinner is $33 per person, with a cash bar available.  Please RSVP to Lyric McCarthy at lyric.mccarthy@gmail.com by September 14th.


COMMUNITY CONCERT & BBQ – September 19th – Concert 3-4:30pm at LJPC; BBQ 5-7pm at Prince Chapel. Got to both for $24 per adult (kids under 12 free), or dinner only for $10. The LA JOLLA SYMPHONY AND CHORUS Young People’s Concert is October 30th in Mandeville Auditorium, UCSD. Because our club has supported this event, we are all invited to attend for free but you must register at www.EventBrite.com or let Wendy Matalon know at wendymatalon@gmail.com.


DAY AT THE RACES THURSDAY NOVEMBER 5TH– Wally Matranga had an overwhelmingly positive response to his offer to organize a Day at the Races – 32 Kiwanians and guests want to go. The cost is $12.50 per person, which covers admission and tables for 4 in the Clubhouse. 


UCSD CIRCLE K MASQUERADE BALL – November 14th – 7-10 pm at the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park. If anyone is interested in chaperoning or going to the Ball, please let Edward To know – mball@ucsdcki.org (619) 307-3746.
