Well, if you missed last week’s program, you missed a good one. A very interesting program by Ana Canto, a hobby beekeeper, who gave us a ton of great details on how bees function as a group, build their hives, make honey, and more! Thanks to Ana for sharing such an interesting topic with us and we hope she visits us again in the future.

We also gave away some more of our grant money. The Youth Services Committee awarded a grant to Ocean Discovery Institute, a $1,000.00 check for their worthy ocean science causes. Ocean Discovery Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses science to empower young people from underserved urban communities to transform their lives, their community, and our world as scientific and conservation leaders.  You can find more information on their website at http://oceandiscoveryinstitute.org. Good job Youth Services!
