La Jolla Kiwanis Member Giving A Grant Check to Recipient

Serving children around the world so that future generations will thrive.

“Serving the children of the world”

Our Mission

The Kiwanis Club of La Jolla carries out this mission in its broadest sense. We serve the children by making our community a better, child friendly place. We raise money through our main fund-raising event the La Jolla Half Marathon, and we portion the proceeds through four major grant committees to give to community needs as identified by the committees’ charters.

Our Objectives

Kiwanis Objectives

To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life. To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.

To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities.

To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism, which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Kiwanis clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different—so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed, and thrive, great things happen.
